I want the discussion pages on this site to have clear focus on specific topics. That said, there are always times when issues affect more than one topic, or we just want a general discussion on the overview of web business management.

I have planned the topics here to match the sections and pages of my management and technical sites, so this web business support website is a rich mix of all aspects of starting and running a web business.

Most visitors are referred here from specific pages on those sites, and it is clear where to discuss the issue. However, if you reached us from an Internet search or other link, the organization of this site is less clear. This is especially true as the site is very new, and I have adopted a deliberate policy of waiting for features to be requested before I provide them.

Shrewdies.net covers website hosting technical issues, including how to install and configure software. It has a strong WordPress influence, as I believe this is the best option for most sites. My project appraisal procedure starts with the assumption that WordPress will do the job, and I only consider alternatives when it is clear that the business will benefit from the additional costs.

Many small business owners cover some or all aspects of both management and technical issues. If that is your position, I still advise trying to clearly divide your time between managing and doing.
